Pink Mountains Youth is a safe space environment for young LGBTQISSA+ people from the Blue Mountains. It meets monthly at the Katoomba Youth Centre and the Springwood Youth Centre (Katoomba one month and Springwood the next). It is run by volunteers from the community and supported through a partnership between Mountains Youth Services Team (MYST) and Pink Mountains.
Pink Mountains Youth is suitable for 13 years and up. Some of the conversations are not suitable for younger people. It is also important that participants know how to behave and be appropriate when interacting with others.
Pink Mountains Youth has been funded by the community through various fundraising events including Alphabet Soup, a community picnic and by Mount Vic Flicks who have hosted Eurovision Song Contest screenings for the last three years.
Pink Mountains Youth runs on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
As of August we return to face-to-face meetings in Springwood and Katoomba. Covid-19 Safety Guidelines apply as per the policies of our venue host Mountains Youth Services Team.
