The crew from 1050 – Mt Victoria’s regular dance party for queer people and their friends – are gearing up for a bumper weekend, with a huge event planned for the Victoria & Albert Guesthouse.

A pool party, BBQ and dance party all in one,  ‘Fantasy Island’ will kick off at 3pm on Saturday, February 13, featuring stellar DJs and dancing till late.

Annabelle Gaspar, DJ Scada, DJ Shorty and Dr Evil will be pumping out the tunes, keeping the crowd at one of the Mountains’ queerest events on their feet.

“Frolic by the pool, daydream through the heritage halls of the Victoria and Albert Guesthouse, immerse yourself in the dazzling lights and tunes of a dreamy dance space,” said the organisers’ Facebook event page.

“Pool party from 3pm – more dancing in the dance hall until late. BBQ by the pool between 5 and 9.”

Overnight accommodation at the venue is now booked out but tickets to the party itself ($25 plus booking fee) are still available on Moshtix.

The venue is an easy walking distance from Mt Victoria Railway Station, while a number of patrons are organising car pools from Sydney on the Facebook event page.

Since starting last year, 1050 (which is named after Mt Victoria’s altitude of 1050 metres above sea level) has quickly become one of the Blue Mountains’s most colourful and exciting events.
