With its flowering plants, Spring has always been known for its colour. But Spring is going to be extra colourful in Blackheath this year, thanks to legendary local guesthouse Kubba Roonga.

Owners Chris and Graham have announced a colourful new garden party, which they hope will become an annual fixture: the Spring Drag Devonshire Tea Sunday.

A garden party for drag queens and their admirers, the 12-4pm event on Sunday, October 25 will be a great opportunity to dress up in Spring garden colours, be fabulous and take afternoon tea in Kubba Roonga’s beautiful European-style heritage gardens.

Dragging up will be optional, but having a good time will be unavoidable at this event, where Graham’s lovely scones (served with jam and cream) will make for an afternoon to remember.  Cakes, friands, fudge, muffins, Danishes, raisin toast, Arabica coffee and an assortment of loose leaf teas will also available.

With free entry, guests will only pay for the treats and drinks they order. Guests also have the option to simply attend the garden party – or they can stay the night (or longer) at the luxurious guest house, which is rated four stars by Star Ratings Australia, Australia’s official accommodation accreditation program.

Bookings are essential for the Spring Drag Devonshire Tea Sunday. Call the guesthouse directly during reception hours (8am to 7pm) on (02) 4787 5224.

The Kubba Roonga cafe is open seven days (by appointment), with accommodation available year-round.
