Pink Mountains in Winter Magic Parade
Rain, hail, shine or snow, Pink Mountains will be in the Winter Magic Parade in Katoomba this Saturday, June 18!
Our entry is open to all LGBTIQ people and their allies. It is such an important time for the LGBTIQ communities and our families, friends, and allies to be visible and out-and-proud!
Thirty-five people have registered for our entry so far. We need to tell the Winter Magic organisers how many people are in our entry, so if you’d like to take part but haven’t already registered, please contact Julie from our parade committee at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0408 198 842.
The Winter Magic theme this year is “Where The Magic Things Are” – and we will have a fabulous magical soundtrack accompanying us in the parade!
The Pink Mountains theme is PINK – please wear pink and/or white if possible – this colour scheme will unite us as the Pink Mountains LGBTIQ community.
Finally, the Winter Magic Parade organisers have asked us to relay some rules and info. Please see below:

No offensive costumes or props will be permitted to enter the parade
Toy or replica weapons are not encouraged
No distribution of flyers
No pets or animals
Toilets, water bubblers are located at the marshalling area
You are responsible for your own belongings
If it is raining – please bring/wear appropriate clothing, umbrellas
Please follow the instructions of Parade Officials
Where to meet – the parade marshalling area
The parade marshalling area is located on the grounds of Katoomba Public School.
Access from Waratah St only.
Please arrive by 10am. Julie will be there from 9:30am. Gates close at 10:45am.
Go to the marshalling area, check the signposts for sections 1 – 10, Pink Mountains will be listed. We can only find this out on the morning.
If you can’t find Pink Mountains ask the registration desk.
The parade will start at 11:30am.
